It seems that, recently, the hot topics on the lips of governments and concerned citizens alike are global warming and environmental impact. We are all aware that these are international problems, and a great majority of us are at least a little bit concerned. What can we do as individuals, though? It seems like a daunting task to try to make a difference as one person or one household. Some things, like recycling, are influenced heavily by local government services, and sometimes it can feel like we just don't have that many options.
Of course, everyday activities can be modified to conserve more energy and resources. Go for a jog on hardy artificial turf instead of mulching up the grass in your local park, and make sure that you turn all lights off when they aren't being used. It can be considered fortunate that we have quite a mild climate here, so we don't need to feel the guilt of using an air conditioner to make temperatures bearable. Reconsider your gardening, though. How much water do we use to keep our grass green and our flowers bright? In many cases, synthetic grass can look as natural as your nearest woodland glade, and there is no maintenance required! Sure, plastic grass is non-biodegradable, but the one-off production is offset by the years of saved water and lawn mower fuel. Rare is the person who uses a motorless mower, unless they have a particularly naughty teenager who needs to put his energies to better use.
Time is another major factor when considering an artificial lawn. Think about the hours you've spent carefully seeding a lawn, watering it, mowing it, landscaping it to perfection. The dreaded weeding will be a chore of the past if you choose to replace your current grass. One call to a professional lawn company will solidify an appointment for a custom and efficient installation. You could have the perfect astroturf garden within a matter of days, and never have to water it again. Now all you will need to worry about is what to do with that rusty old lawn mower!
